As a veteran MMORPG player with over two decades of experience across various titles, I can confidently say that the Ocean Fishing mechanic is an absolute masterpiece of game design. The intricate weather conditions, bite timings, diverse bait systems, and beautiful fish designs make it incredibly engaging and dynamic. My passion for this content even led me to create detailed, high-yield guide videos for our community on YouTube.However, as a dedicated high-level Fisher and Crafter who enjoys the economic depth of Eorzea, I would like to constructively highlight a significant missed opportunity regarding the reward structure of this system.Currently, after a player achieves their personal milestones—such as unlocking specific mounts, minions, achievements, or capping their Gatherer’s Scrips—the actual fish caught during these voyages lose almost all practical purpose. Aside from a few select species that can be placed in housing aquariums, the vast majority of these meticulously designed fish act as inventory clutter, yielding negligible Gil when sold to shop vendors. This creates a disconnect where a beautifully polished, highly enjoyable gameplay loop becomes isolated from the game's broader, living economy.To enhance the longevity of Ocean Fishing and integrate it into the core crafting ecosystem, I would like to humbly propose a solution utilizing the Desynthesis system:Resource Recycling through Desynthesis: Allow high-level or rare Ocean Fishing catches to be desynthesized into actual, high-demand crafting and cooking ingredients, rather than useless items.Targeted Yields: Depending on the region and difficulty of the catch, desynthesizing these fish could yield substantial amounts of high-tier Water and Ice Crystals/Clusters, as well as unique Culinary Ingredients needed for endgame Culinarian and Alchemist Master Recipes.Why this would benefit the game:This change would establish a healthy, symbiotic relationship between Fishers and Crafters. It would revitalize the Market Board, provide Ocean Fishing with a permanent, self-sustaining economic value, and give players a compelling reason to continuously board the ferry even after completing their personal achievement checklists.Thank you very much for taking the time to read this feedback and for always listening so closely to the community.
