From the MSQ, I don’t remember exactly, we were told that Elidibus used the last of his essence to send us into the past. Which made me think Elidibus’s soul was consumed in the process as well, the same way it happened with Lahabrea, and Venat. These characters, unlike Emet, Hermes, etc. would not be reborn through the aetherial sea.
Additionally. We can also say that each reflection has its own aetherial sea, since several Azems can exist on different reflections simultaneously. And only through calamities has the source’s soul been united with its other shards.
And, so, my question becomes, how can Elidibus’s soul be plucked from the aetherial sea, when The Source and The First have different aetherial seas, AND Elidibus’s soul was spent inside the crystal tower never reaching the aetherial sea in the first place?
P.S. A voiced cutscene that’s not MSQ? What is this madness?!
