 | I started playing just over 2 weeks ago and am currently in HW. About two hours before yesterday's maintenance my game started dropping frames at an alarming rate for no discernable reason and has yet to be solved. Prior to this, the game ran comfortably at 120~ fps with no issues whatsoever. Legit, turned in MSQ and had apparently opened Pandora's box. This is purely base game, I've installed nothing third party. This also uses the site launcher, not through Steam. As it stands, I can boot up the game and log in just fine, and initially will have decent fps. Then, without fail thus far, within a few minutes tops my frames will steadily decline down into the 30 range, then 20, 10, and has hit as low as 1 fps. It's a PowerPoint presentation. This only happens for FF14, every other game I've tried has not had this issue. As for troubleshooting, I've tried everything I can think of. I believe my specs are: CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, GPU - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, RAM - Micron 16 GB DDR4 SDRAM, SSD - TOSHIBA DT01ACA100. Apologies if I got anything wrong, I'm honestly still on a pre-build I got when I was 19. Lastly, what I've tried so far: - Used OCCT for a standard and extreme stress test, PC held up shockingly well - Uncapped the frame rate in game, afterwards also tried capping monitor refresh in both settings and the Nvidia app (separate tests) - Tried a whole litany of in game settings - Restored game files - Turned off v sync, left g sync on, vise versa, nuked them both at some point - Tried Fullscreen over Borderless, both tank - Cleaned my PC's interior (needed to happen anyway) - Made sure Discord, Xbox Game Bar, and Nvidia overlays were off. Xbox got put down three different times. - Checked for a Win 11 update, much to my dismay. - Check for drivers updates. - DDU'd and reinstalled graphics drivers. Think I took 5 years off my life with that one - Transfered to a different Data Center (was happening anyway to join friends.... If I had any frames!) - Completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game I've tried everything I can think of and more, this has been like a 10 project at this point. I'm willing to try basically anything. Thank you! Edit: We have a leading suspect!!! I no longer toil in fruitless madness, at least for now. Seems like the leading contender is a GPU issue likely being a fan failure.
