I don't know what your situation is. But this is mine...
I sign up for clears mainly. I haven't lotted on anything even before your changed lotting rules. Heck... I even forget to lot on the money because my dynamis LS lets it auto distribute.
I would assume it is safe to say that it is quite rare seeing this in any particular Dynamis. With sponsoring or even free lot being the more popular ways, at least.

My point is that I'm kind of shocked to see a Dynamis LS just let 100s drop randomly to people. It's very unusual to see this happens, it's actually the first and only LS I've heard do this, while (almost) every single LS do sponsor runs nowadays. But before you start arguing back, you guys do whatever you want, and if everybody's happy with it, then good for your LS.Razorcat said:and your point being Lylie?
I've been doing Dynamis with DX for a little more than a year, then took a break, and went a couple times with them in March, and I've rarely saw us do such a bad job on CC or killing because people would be busy loting and chating. Sure, it sometimes may cause little problems, like someone loting on your AF2 by mistake, but a few tells solve the issue real fast. And generally, if people are doing a bad job on CC or killing, it's not because they're busy loting.Razorcat said:Probably is. The problems I have with free lot is that people become interested in "who's winning" the lots for money than focusing on the run at hand. Another issue I have is that if you're in a job that is forever busy in dynamis, sometimes you mindlessly just cast lots on the whole treasure loot with little regards with whats in it.
I have nothing against you, but you make it sounds like it takes 10 minutes to analyze what is in the treasure pool, and 10 more minutes to lot on stuff.Razorcat said:I have and I know many who have committed the first "crime". It causes needless deaths and clutters the LS/party chat with "you hax" etc etc even if its in good humor. I have also commited the 2nd crime as well. I usually manage to catch it in time but I have gotten some AFs because I'm too busy to pay attention to what I'm lotting. I end up being the last person lotting and happen to be the highest lotter. Do I feel bad? Yes. But as I said, I'm too busy to pay attention to something insignificant as the treasure pool so I just cast lots whenever I can.
I can tell you that in Tavnazia runs, I have monitored who is going to be outlotting my 970ish lot etc.

It's different for some jobs, especially whm. I've gotten faster at lotting over time, but it still takes attention, and that diversion can cause problems. I know of one occasion when we were still lotting singles that Garret died because the other whm and I happened to be on the treasure screen at the same time. With most jobs, it's not an issue. There's time after sleeps or hastes or stoneskins or attacks/provokes when you can spend 5-10 seconds to lot. For many jobs, taking 30 seconds would only slow down their damage rate slightly because they're already attacking the current mob.I've been playing RDM in Dynamis for now 1 year, and even though I'm really busy sleeping stuff, enfeebling, curing, refreshing, hasting and whatnot, you always can find 5 seconds to lot. It just requires a bit of attention. Lag is more of an issue when it comes to lot and/or pass on AF2s or 100s, than paying attention.
Cut the arguing please.
Oops, started writing my reply before this got posted. <_<;;
It's not arguing, it's more like, discussing. I agree with Varda, I remember once my tank dying because I was loting stuff, and all of a sudden realized the mob had Hundred Fists'd our tank and said to myself: "Oh shit!". But it was more because I was lazy to do my WHM job this day, rather than the lack of time to lot stuff.Cut the arguing please.
