Attendance

Just curious but are more people simply attending runs with their own LS's now, or losing interest in city runs because they have clears, or their AF2, or enough points, or busy with school, or what?

I ask this because based off the attendance at Jeuno last night, and looking at the similar sign up counts for upcoming runs numbers appear to be horrific.

If last night is an indication of what our future attendance is going to look like then DX is going to be disbanded.

Historically, we've had good attendance up to this last week. Wednesday's run was lumped in with another LS due to the update, and Sunday people were probably having update fever as well.

I can only speak for myself when I say, "sorry." I had health reasons for missing this Sunday.

Perhaps it is a bit hasty to say we'll disband based on 1 run. I completely understand your frustration. If I'd been on last night, I'd be frustrated as well. However, looking at our history, this seemed to be a fluke.

I still think that yesterday was an anamoly. Some of it had to do with the connection issues.

We had 20 altogether Kal.

I'm basing the comment also on similar sign-up counts for upcoming runs as well.

And if there is some reason people aren't attending I would just like to know so that I can find a way to correct it if possible.

It's spring break time for some universities & colleges.

I'll be upfront about myself, currently just making it to Xarcabard until I finish up leveling BLU and NIN. I'll probably make some of the CoP zones as well, or if you're in dire need of bodies and I'm on, I can make it. Predaking has asked me to come on SOAP a couple times.

Ive been ridiculously busy with school and work. Ive been trying to sign up only for the runs I know for sure i'll be able to attend. I'll usually know the day prior, or the day of.

I would hate to see DX disband. =/ But unfortunately, RL > FFXI.

It's not about trying to single people out, I just want to try & do my best to ensure that last night's run is not a repeating occurence. If there is some reason behind it then I want to know why is all.

For one, Nudawn LS had done Dynamis - Jeuno right before you (I didn't watch how people we had, but it was a good 40~ish). Two, people are getting pissed off with the connection issue since a few days, and didn't want, or were able to play yesterday.

I love DX. Aside from when I came back and found the pearl broke and going with another shell for like 2 weeks before figuring out DX just broke/remade pearl, it's been my 1st Dynamis shell and has always been my only Dynamis shell. I know everything must eventually come to an end, but if DX breaks, I'm going to be a lost and sad little puppy without a home. :weeping03

I'm normally at every dynamis unless something happens, with the exception of one sunday out of the month normally. LS fights gods like every 3 weeks on a sunday and it happened to fall on this run. I can't fail to show up for a couple of reasons. I help run it and I'm the only BRD in it. Would look kind of wrong for me to not be there and they depend on me to be there as refresh bitch. I signed up for last wednesdays run, but the update owned my ass all night long and I had to finish it the next morning cause it disconnected. Nothing I can do about that, and I assume others were in the same situation. I'm sorry. I signed up for the Jeuno run that took place Sunday after the update, and I don't know if you go back and look through old posts before doing the run, but I deleted my post like two weeks in advance if that at all matters when I learned of the date our sky shell was going to fight gods.

Despite only really wanting 1 more piece of AF2 currently, I still plan to attend each city/northland run that I possibly can. After all I can still lot and hopefully win 100's all the while helping someone else hopefully get what they want.

I signed up for the CoP Dynamis's, but the only thing I probably won't do is attend CoP Dynamis areas after this month. I'm going this month cause I signed up. I have no interest in upgrading any AF2 pieces I currently have and the only thing from CoP Dynamis areas that interest me is Koga Sarashi. According to mysterytour it only drops off of specific mobs, which while doing CoP Dynamis with DX I've never seen us fight. This doesn't bother me. I know there are time limitations and it's impossible to please everyone. CoP Dynamis runs are usually full or have people that want to go, but can't get in because of the allowable person limitation. I would much rather give someone else the chance of going instead of me, since I'm under the assumption they want AF2 upgrade or AF2 accessory. I'd rather not take up a spot that could have benefited someone else who could have used my spot and have helped them get what they want.

Aside from my speel, maybe you should look at the point system. Maybe attendance is low due to the fact that people spent the points on what they wanted and jetted, and the point system scares off new people for whatever reason. Points seem to scare a lot of people off I think. Look at what the attendance rate was before point system was implemented, if you can roughly estimate with what it is now and has been during the majority of the point system being in effect. Maybe deduct points for those that sign and don't show up or notify.

I just want to close in saying that DX feels like a 2nd home to me and it will be a sad day if it were to go/disband. :(

/em wonders if anyone took the time to actually read this or if he just wasted away time in his life..... :tounge-1:

The Sarashi drops off bunnies and mandies in Bubu, which I don't remember us doing. However, it also drops off of Hippos and Cactuars in Valkurm. I think we farmed Hippos before, the problem is that we haven't been able to farm Valkurm in a while.

Due to some recent events, my dynamis schedule is now wide open, lol. Until now, I usually just did dynamis with whatever shell I had(DF/Envy/Trinity). My current shell I don't see doing their own runs, as a good portion already roll with DX/Soap.

With that said, I'd be interested in attending, but not sure how one goes about it. Is there a thread/forum to apply get voted on etc etc? Or just sign up and show up?

For DX, you can sign-up here and show up before the scheduled start to 100% guarantee a spot, otherwise there's often room even without a signup (Xarcabard and CoP dynamis are exceptions, those are usually quite full or close to it). Predaking is currently handling most SOAP stuff, so if you're interested in attending that, send him a tell.

In game ask Sarahlynn , Predaking, Sassafras, Garret, or Myself and we can further explain the rules. When asking specify SOAP/DX so we know which of the two confused you. :) I do wish to see you soon in DX. :) And to help clarify all city runs are clears unless stated otherwise (usually an attendance issue).

I think we've done bunnies somewhat regularly in Bubu (maybe every other run). Mandies are a real pain; I know we've attempted/done them before, but I think they're low on the list.

As for Valkurm, I know we've tried both. I think we had 1 good and 1 bad encounter with the Cactuars. Hippos pop pretty close to the MB, so not a big deal in going after them.

We've been pretty good about trying different mob types overall. Our real problem has been getting the MB clear in Valkurm, and to a lesser extent in Qufim. :(

I missed the last 2 Valkurms cause they fell on my sky god run, but thanks for refreshing my memory. I do remember the Cactuars. That was a last minute effort that ended up in death all around till the glass kicked us out. Sorry it gets kinda late when we do random killings and I'm getting sleepy/fuzzy which is why maybe I don't remember them things lol. Now that I do think about it we do do the Hippo's after Clear. They pop on both sides of the Marlboro NM after clear. I think I remember doing the bunnies at the end of the last Bubumiru. Sorry I forgot some things. DST has been kicking my ass this week for some strange reason and my original post was made while half asleep.

The reason we do not do Mandragora in Buburimu is because their sleep lasts through poison and they spam it.

And Dark, DX is completely open, no application or anything required, just the point system, so if you attend then you earn points whether you come once a week or once a year.

I couldn't make wednesday's run because of the update. As for sunday, I've always usually gone with my LS unless I have to work or something, then I go with you guys later in the day.

Don't disband!
