With the release of the new Kefka Ultimate, I have been reflecting a bit on the state of the game’s highest-end content. I recall that when Tea, DSR, and Top came out, there was so much hype around those raids. Players who had never set foot in Ultimates would swarm various streams to watch world-first proggers, learn the mechanics, and implement them in their own progs. The entire community, as I remember, was ecstatic.
With this recent release, however, the collective energy from the community feels much subdued. This is not a sudden feeling, as FRU seems to be the point at which that subduedness began. There was less buzz within the community, and certainly fewer discussions behind the alternative lore hidden in ultimates.
Therefore, as written in the title, is everyone still watching, progging, or intending to prog the new ultimate?
