I just switched from console to PC which for no reason reset all my settings, gear sets, macros etc, and i was losing my mind yelling at the screen entirely baffled at what i was witnessing. i put it all up to japan spaghetti code and server tick rate not updating the information quick enough. when i would press a 1 hp target and then use my LB on them to finish them off, without fail, every single time, my guy would jump a full hp enemy instead. it made me alt f4 the game multiple times, i could not bare to play FF14. i thought wow i have to somehow wait an entire 5 seconds now to LB someone after selecting them or else the server will not update that im fully locked onto this person using my skills.
are you aware in the settings there is something turned on by default called "auto target" where the game will override your own input, and choose someone else to attack with your ability instead? im not joking. by default FF14 devs thought it would be a good idea for them to just attack full hp enemies even though you are hardlocked onto a 1 hp enemy, using your finishers. enemies that can be off screen and even further away than the target you are staring at, and have clicked and highlighted.
i dropped like 8 tiers switching from console to PC, i chalked it up to user error somehow, i was willing to be humble and think i was the problem and i was somehow faster using an xbox controller which requires 2 button clicks every ability, and tab target cycling entire teams to choose my target, but this was the final straw for me. i have to wait until midnight when all the "european" (win trading NA goofs) get online to even get a ranked lobby, and everyone online now is perma-stuck in their rank. i see people i was playing with in crystal and diamond all the way back down to plat 4 now alongside me, and ive lost all motivation.
