Appeals of Current Paladin Iterations for Consideration in Evolved

I like many are excited for the new evolved system and overall think that it will bring a lot of needed life into the gameplay of 14. Based on things seen in the demo at fanfest (fully understanding that everything is subject to change and very much still in development), I wanted to list a few things that I personally wish could be retained from the current version of Paladin. I would hope that something of similar complexity would take their place if these items are not kept, but I am definitely open to new things.

Balancing Combos: One of the things that keeps current Paladin interesting is effectively balancing its basic 1-2-3, atonement, and magic combos to make sure you can keep the highest potency GCDs under FoF and keep options available for mobility. Without raid buffs, some of that will obviously go away. Perhaps there could be a buff that just increases the potency of your next few GCDs for example? That way you have a reason to balance which combos you are doing. If the combo balancing gameplay does not stick around, I worry that the counter system won't be interesting enough to make doing damage as a PLD interesting enough. One button for melee damage and one for occasional ranged damage just doesn't seem complex enough.

Loss of Recovery Agency: Sometimes as a PLD you need to generate MP quickly to keep yourself healed with Clemency. To accomplish this sometimes your best option is to just repeat 1-2-1-2 until you build up enough MP to heal off of. Perhaps this will not be a concern on future balancing (or perhaps it is a design change decision), but I want to point out the concern nonetheless.

I want to make it clear that I am excited for the changes overall. I just had a few things I wanted to submit for consideration as a long time paladin.
