I'm downloading FFXIV after I stopped playing at the around the time of the pandemic in 2020.
I started playing back in 2017 and I was having the time of my life during Shadowbringers. I really enjoyed the savage raids, Hydratos, mastering SMN and it was probably the most social I had been in game.
Over time that stopped as my father was just getting worse health wise, it meant sometimes I would just have to leave a raid a dungeon without any notice and cause the party to wipe (in order to help my mother look after him). I just felt like I couldn't play anymore. It was just so frustrating. After he passed away I just sort of didn't know how to come back. Weeks would turn to months to years.
Every now and then I would check in on this subreddit, see what content was new and what was happening. For some reason I didn't return earlier and I can't explain why.
I know it's just a game after all but I can't help feeling I've missed out on some amazing times.
I guess I'll be ready for Evercold so there are some positives.
Has anyone else had to leave and well felt regret for not coming back sooner?
