(Hope I've used the correct flair for this)
I've been playing & enjoying the game for quite a while now, and with patch 7.4 I'm the most "caught up" I've ever been. I have all combat jobs & DoL/DoH at 100, just finished crafting a complete set of 770 gear for every job, and have been absolutely loving the most recent raids.
Despite feeling comfortable with those recent fights, I still feel far too hesitant/anxious to make the leap to high-end content. I'm generally a very reserved, quiet person until I feel comfortable & confident enough to speak up, which I feel really holds me back from breaking into the more social (at least from my perspective) endgame scene.
I do have a dozen clears of EX4 (all as DRK OT), but I was far from optimally geared (not contributing as much as I hoped) & still don't feel as though I truly learned the fight.
As far as Savage goes, I only tried EX4 as preparation for a casual static last tier that fell through at the last moment. As a result I have no current Savage experience, with the closest thing being an unfortunate P8S unsync PF that dissolved after a handful of wipes because one person didn't have the patience for others to learn.
Between those two experiences, I've been left with a bad taste in my mouth for sure
It would be a dream come true to find a static or group of some sort to farm mounts (would love some wings one of these days) & learn new fights with, but that doesn't seem at all possible with my lack of experience, especially given my inability to even use PF for the content.
Just finding it really hard to shake the feeling that I've missed the boat on endgame content, either by catching up to current content too late into the expansion or not being confident enough to grind the new EX as soon as a patch drops.
I know that high-end content isn't for everyone, but it feels like the logical next step for me, and what will keep me invested in the game that I love going forward.
I haven't decided yet which role/job to use if I try making the step up, but I'm leaning toward either Tank (DRK) or Melee (RPR). Currently attempting to psyche myself up for EX6 now that the Kobe guide is out (I'm on Materia DC), but any advice would be much appreciated
