There was a thread regarding easing players into more difficult content, and I think it is a novel idea. However, I would like to add to that thread my opinion on a specific issue regarding endgame content: locking it behind MSQ completion. This lock in itself acts as a major barrier to entry for many players who simply want to just tackle endgame content.
Once players reach the maximum level cap in an expansion, it shall serve as the primary requirement for accessing the current endgame content. Player retention, in my opinion, is greatly reduced when players are required to complete the entire MSQ to access the aforementioned content.
There are two solutions to this current situation. First, an option could be added in the online store that lets players skip the current MSQ. Another option is to simply remove the MSQ requirement for the endgame content. In the second option, players could level their characters by completing fates in the open world, which would address the issue of the world being too empty.
Doing either of the options listed above could not only increase the number of players participating in endgame content but also give current players more opportunities to tackle it.
