I am currently playing FFXIV and recently finished the Shadowbringers expansion - during the final dungeon my partner (who had already played the whole expansion) kept “backseat gaming” talking my ear off while i was playing which distracted me and caused me to lose track of my gaming and die a couple times. I have been told by my partner as well as many people on Reddit that the Shadowbringer expansion is an amazing experience especially the end - FFXIV is a lengthy grindy mmo so i know damn well i spent so much time and effort to make it this far and the reddit audience was right - the Shadowbringer ending was indeed amazing - however, i feel as if my experience was ruined because of my partner always in my ear telling me what to do - this caused me to get really angry and blow up saying he ruined the experience for me; he was the one who initially told me in the beginning that he did not believe that i would get this far in the game since it’s so grindy - but i sure as hell got to this point and i deserved my moment and i feel like it was ruined.
