I had 129 Aetherspun Gold.
I now have 0.
I accidentally sold them all to the Expedition NPC for 10 Silver each, while trying to sell some Notes on the Trade Tortoise.
I'm not even sure why I bothered to constantly sell the duplicate Job Shards and Expedition Notes I receive. In retrospect, I should just discard them. 10 Silver for each of these components is worthless, especially when FATEs now give 70 Silver each.
As of 7.5, Occult Crescent FATEs also take longer to do. Bronze and Silver Chests take longer to respawn as a result. Aetherspun Gold is rare- while I didn't need 129 of them, I wanted to keep a fraction of those for Arcanaut Equipment upgrades. It's baffling that items necessary for gear progression can be sold for almost nothing, despite being so rare and of situational importance.
I'm crestfallen knowing I'm going to have to open myriad chests across Occult Crescent, once again fighting time and RNG to get a chance at regaining these otherwise worthless items.
The fault largely falls with me, but mine can atleast be a cautionary tale. I would recommend others place their spools of Aetherspun Gold into the Chocobo Saddlebag after leaving the instance- this would have prevented the items from appearing in the Sell list while trying to offload duplicates. Or just don't bother with selling junk notes and shards, and discard them instead. You might save yourself a lot of trouble.
I ask Creative Studio III to allow these items to be sold on the market board, or to allow them to be purchased with Silver or Gold like several of the other items required for upgrading Arcanaut Gear. I really, really don't want to have to gather these things again...
