As some of you have heard, Guild Wars 3 was announced a few days ago. But I'd like to talk not about the announcement but about how Arena.net approaches its games. The intention is to turn all three games into an interconnected, intertwined megaverse, where doing achievements in one game rewards the player in another one (including weapon and armor skins, titles, pets, etc.). This concept is essentially what the Hall of Monuments represents. The system already exists for Guild Wars (Reforged) and Guild Wars 2. When I was listening to the announcement, I couldn't help but think about FFXI and FFXIV. It would be great if the two interconnected games sharing the same universe (in a way) developed a similar system. This might benefit both games. (Also, it would be fantastic if FFXI streamlined the process of account creation; it's a nightmare right now.)
