Hello everyone, I would like to make a post about XIV and Logitech's Gaming Software's weird interactions with each other.

TL:DR For the upcoming post,
If you have a Logitech keyboard or mouse that has custom buttons that you assign in the Logitech Gaming Software, make sure the custom profile has "Lock profile while game is running" checked, otherwise it often time will not work.

Full Post,
So I have the Orion Spectrum G910 keyboard and G300s mouse, both of which have a number of extra buttons that you can bind macros or multiple keys to, while playing an MMO these can be very helpful. However, the custom profile for XIV tends not to work, as MANY LGS users have pointed out previously. I've tried all the different tricks to make it work, such as running the game in admin, using a custom launcher, running the LGS as admin, and dozens of other tricks. But I finally found one that so far works 100% of the time, and that's setting the profile to lock when the game is running. If you have "Lock profile while game is running" checked, then even if it's not your currently active window, as long as the process is detected by windows it will be in that profile. I believe that the reason why this happens is that the game doesn't keep an active window check always on, and so LGS sees it as not the main window, so revert to default binds. It's a very simple fix that I feel really dumb not thinking about earlier, so I want to make the solution known for anyone who also has the same issues!
