Imagine you cause an inconvenience to someone and they're like "Oh yeah? Thoughts and prayers, buddy..." while maintaining direct eye contact and clutching some crystals.
I know there needs to be a lot of people/crystals to pull off a summoning but I'd be paranoid if I thought they had a bunch of friends to back them up. I guess they'd all get tempered too though, so it's more like a kamikaze threat.
Maybe you don't even need a huge amount of prayers/crystals to summon a tiny primal to take out one normal person though?
Unrelated rambling: Sometimes I think it would be so cool to live in this world until I remember there's SO many horrific ways to get killed: (magic) disease, (magic) war, (magic) cancer, curses, monsters, possession, transfiguration into a monster, disintegration into aether, extraction of the literal soul... and just magic in general: as a weaver, what could stop an angry mage from swiftcasting Flare before the chirurgeons can get to you?? PLUS there's still all of the normal ways to die that exist IRL already lol.
There's also the fact that the main city states seem like really awful places to live if you know the lore (to be fair, this is also true IRL for a lot of/most places). Pretty sure there's only like 2-3 cities in the game that seem genuinely safe to live in (IIRC you need a passport or something for Old Sharlayan so I don't count it. Plus I can't afford tuition). My first pick is Radz-at-Han: seems safe, has a friendly culture and people, has a badass leader AND the food looks good! Only drawback I can think of is having to be either very business savvy or a very talented alchemist to make it.
