Every time a holiday comes around in game, I look forward to the event of course, but also to the other items from that event coming on sale. We can buy them any time (as long as it's been a year) from the online store if someone has funds and is impatient, but for those of us who have tighter budgets we at least know we can wait until the event is up to buy related items.
However, the last three events have not put the event items on sale. My excitement for the online store maintenance was once again dashed today when it just added stuff without putting the other All Saints Wake stuff on sale.
I and a lot of the roleplaying community have a lot of alt characters who were often made after events so do not have the event items even though I have them on my content main. I use the event sales to dress them and pick up cool seasonal decor for their housing/rooms. We already put a lot of money into the online store for outfits, emotes, sometimes story skips, etc., for these alts. Putting the event items on sale is such a small thing and causes us to buy more of them. There's a feeling like I better get the items during the sale while this is my chance. The last several events with no sale I just.. didn't buy the items at all. If they are the same price forever, what is the rush? And the housing items are too pricey anyway for items you could just pick up for gil during the event. At least on sale they feel a bit more doable. People who didn't have housing during events or did a redesign also might want to pick up the decor for new housing.
Last year the sales got desynced from the start of the events for a while and that was annoying because I couldn't dress up my alts/new characters for actually doing the event and had to wait, but no sale at all? That's so much worse.
Please bring back putting the event items on sale during the event. It really helps encourage buying them and also makes the event time period more festive, as more people pick up old event rewards to show off during the event and we can all look forward to the sale as part of the way to celebrate the holiday.
