More specifically, since it was too spoiler-y for the title, what would have happened to the WoL if they became a Lightwarden in the Tempest, and the Ascian plan continued as intended?
We know they would have terrorized the First until it rejoined with the Source, at which point the souls from the First would also rejoin with their Source counterparts. From this we can conclude Ardbert would have been forcibly rejoined with Lightwarden!WoL. But then what?
Would Lightwarden!WoL return to the Source and start destroying stuff there? Would Ardbert's rejoining tip the balance the way it did in-game, and contain the light again? Would Lightwarden!WoL simply cease to exist, or be banished to some realm of pure light outside the known FFXIV cosmology?
This also begs the question of what would happen to the souls of those who became sin eaters on the First if they rejoined with their counterparts on the Source, though I'd have to guess the people on the Source who are already seven times rejoined would be able to absorb the light from a single shard and still be okay. That wouldn't apply to the WoL though, whose Source-self had already been completely aspected to light.
