So, we are having a weird connection issue none of us can figure out at the house and I figured I'd ask here with people far more skilled and knowledgeable than I am.
We are a FFXIV household. My wife, older son, and I all play. My wife and I have ye olde legacy accounts from the 1.0 days My older son is on a Free Trial account until he catches up story-wise to the Trial. All three of us have fairly nice gaming PCs and are all connected wirelessly to our internet.
However, when all three of us are playing, my wife and I stay connected the entire time but my son keeps getting DC'd. He'll stay connected on the Discord call. He doesn't seem to lose internet itself, but FFXIV keeps booting him. Additionally, before we rearranged rooms, he was connected via a cable to the router and did not experience any disconnecting from the game at all.
Is there a setting somewhere I should jiggle? The way the house is currently set up makes connecting him via cable impossible otherwise we know that's the easiest/best solution. I also think this happened before we got him a new computer, so is this a Free Trial issue? Do they get booted if too many subscribers log on?
