So I noted that, in English, I couldn’t find a post on how to use the Dpad buttons instead of share button when using a PS4 dualshock controller on the PC. (to tap through the in-game menu’s, like you do on ps4 console). However there is a JP post on how to change this settings. I have been using it for years now and was shocked that there was no English post on it. So I thought I would share it with you all. Especially cause it will make switching from PS4 to PC easier.
Here is how you change the settings.
Locate the file “FFXIV.cfg”. It should be in “C:\Users\<user name>\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn”
In this file, “FFXIV.cfg” various user settings are saved. I would recommend making a copy of this file before editing it. Open it in notepad.
When you open it in notepad locate “<GamePad Settings>”
and find “Alias {90,91,88,89,41,40,32,33,73,72,48,49,1,3,2,0,4,6,8,5,7,9,11,10}”
This is the line you need to change. Change the numbers after Alias.
FFXIV.cfg
A: default setting (share is used to tab to the menu’s)
Alias {90,91,88,89,41,40,32,33,73,72,48,49,1,3,2,0,4,6,8,5,7,9,11,10}
B: Dpad tab
Alias {90,91,88,89,41,40,32,33,73,72,48,49,3,2,1,0,4,6,10,5,7,11,9,13}
After you change this line. Save the file. Then it should work.
