The Old Days Of 1.x

As a new player who's now only 75 hours in to the game and creeping ever closer to the Heavensward expansion, I've grown pretty attached to the game already. As a long time WoW and Final Fantasy player, this game has been a match made in heaven for me and I'm surprised I've waited so long to play it.

After watching the Final Fantasy XIV documentary by NoClip I was fascinated to learn about the struggles Square went through and the events leading up to the games fresh restart and ultimately it's last (final haha ) attempt at redemption in a very difficult MMO space. One thing mentioned in this documentary was interesting to me regarding how content wasn't released. They stated that the content was an"anything goes" limited time event schedule that sadly could only be experienced by those around to play which in turn had the possibility to create alot of great stories and legends.

My question to you guys is regarding the days of 1.X before the fall of Dalamud. I'd love to hear your favorite experiences of that time such as a favorite quest, dungeon, event, something you did with friends, or just something maybe "you just had to be there " to experience. Thank you in advance and I hope there are still plenty of players from this time that can shine some light on this very interesting time:)

P.S. Sorry if I misspelled something incorrectly. I'm just getting to work and can't correct it right now.

TL;DR- Tell us some of your stories regarding your past experience with 1.X before the cataclysmic fall of Dalamud.
