Just noticed this on an alt.
After your player character takes off from their starter city on an airship, you get a short pre-rendered video of the Garlean ship landing, followed by the 1.0 cutscene of Midgardsormer taking down the Agrious.
Both of these movies were rendered in older engines - the Agrious movie was from 1.0 and the blip just before it, with the ship landing and introducing Gaius, Nero, and Livia, looks like the 2.0 engine.
Then suddenly when Gaius is monologuing after the movie is over, he's in the new crisp 7.0 engine.
This isn't a bug - the cutscenes work fine - but these pre-rendered full motion videos have aged poorly, and are due for some TLC.
