Why not just make it a normal alliance raid that people can queue into? That way players can freely set up or organize groups without having to queue sync. There would be less time wasted, less frustration, less "snipes", and less harassment of pug players (in BA at least).
I don't know who in SE keeps thinking this system is good. I did 10 BAs and never looked back even though I wanted to do more, simply because the setup was just frustrating. Castrum is less bad because it's much easier to clear, but there's still a lot of time used in setup in order to actually join in with people you want to play with.
And after joining an instance, the 1h wait for Castrum is way too long. I'm really hoping it's just because no-one has found a way to spawn it yet. I'm finding it faster to just instance hop for a castrum that's almost up than wait out an hour in a new instance if I'm soloing. That's not gameplay, that's just tedious work.
I hope they remember that if it's not fun, no amount of reasoning whether it be lore or whatever can justify it. And it's a shame because the actual content is pretty fun.
