Testing jug pet levels

For Benny :) This is a very old Alla post that had jug level testing data:

http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/jobs.html?fjob=8;mid=1090834104388573077;page=1

And perhaps you can translate this page:

http://ff11.vanamon.com/beast.html

This page has some incomplete testing of jug pet levels. Their method is to test jugs at different levels on the newbie mobs just outside of the towns; Attack will be capped for them, so damage is determined only by the jug's STR, which rises steadily until it caps.

Their testing also confirms the idea that a jug pet is randomly 1-3 levels below you when summoned.

I'm starting to wonder if the lv5 Petrify might not be looking at the pet's "actual" level. Kind of like skillup checks look at your native skill. Let me propose a test: let's record data against an EM enemy with my Lifedrinker Lars (gloves+1BA) and someone's Lars who has gloves+3BA. Damage given, damage taken, on the same mob. If we gather large amounts of data we should get some reliable information. Combat damage against an enemy of static level is an extremely practical gauge of effective level.

Ive been trying to find my info on pet food and AFbody1 vs afbody2. Any of you bsts have the old links to that info? I want to experiment a bit with pet foods and enhances reward gear.

Pretty simple I thought, one's Erase and one's Remedy right? I forget which is which though.
