When when when will they ever do a big battle event like the christmas trees from so long ago? I missed it because I was travelling from Boston to Florida via 26hr road trip but I thought at the time "ah well, there's always next time" and then they NEVER FUCKING DO IT. GAHHHH.

Instead we get dozens of the same goldfish-scooping events that weren't even fun the first time, and a bunch of random EX furniture crap so you can make your mog house look like one of those family restaurants where they put shit like a washboard on the walls. What the fuck^^;;.

Hey at least it sounds like they might bring back the exploring dungeons event. Remember when we were lowbies and they sent us to Uggaleph and Onzozo etc as invisable level 1's? Haha we soon figured out it was a good time to find chests for maps etc :D

Remember we couldn't open the chests ; ; But we could zone out & come back in as our normal selves for the chests.

Seems like it could be a lot of fun ^.~

I remember being scared silly running around Den of Rancor during that event. ^_^;;

The Sunbreeze Festival (07/26/2007)

<!-- TITLE AREA END --><!-- TEXT AREA -->
Listen! Do you hear that? Those are the sweet sounds of the Sunbreeze Shuffle, a traditional dance piece from the Far East, kupo. It's said that when that tune starts, there isn't a soul who cannot keep his feet from dancing a merry jig. Just ask the Rakapopo dancers grooving all about the three nations, kupo!

Oooh! And what about the booms echoing in the night sky? The dazzling patterns created by the magic of light? Why, that would be the fireworks displays, put on by the nations' greatest alchemists, kupo. Every night, after dusk, watch as the heavens bloom in a thousand colors! It's enough to make even the hardest hearts soften.

What is that? Song, dance, and dazzling pyrotechnics aren't enough to get you in the mood for summer? Well then, what about scooping goldfish? Nothing is better to beat the heat than extirpating miniature aquans from hydrogen/oxygen-based pools all across Vana'diel, kupo!

Eh? The heat is still too much to bear, then how about a few chills to cool that spine of yours? If it's hair-raising excitement you're searching for, then you need look no further than the moogles' infamous "test of courage."

Grab a friend and hold her hand tight as you delve into some of the creepiest, crawliest dungeons in all of Vana'diel to retrieve a hidden relic and escape...alive!

This year's event is so frightening that there were several instances of moogles making early exits during the MHMU test runs! Oh, but we're sure you'll have nooo problem making it through, so why not sign up for the ride of your life...to hell! Mwahahahaha, kupo!

Now take off that heavy, sweaty, blood-stained armor, change into your yukata, and have some fun!

Sunbreeze has got to be one of the best seasonal events in the game. Sure goldfish scooping is rather boring. But you get cute yukatas, there's fireworks every night (/glee! Fireworks!), and the music!!! C'mon, you know it's the only really chipper song in the game. Am I the only person here who bounces in their chair singing along? >.>a

And I'm so glad they finally brought back the test of courage. There's nothing better than a good kimodameshi! >) For those who don't know, the Test thy Mettle event looks to be SE's attempt at recreating a Japanese children's game. 肝試し, or Kimodameshi, is where a group of kids will go out on a summer night to some scary/creepy place like a cave, or a graveyard, etc. They usually split into pairs and explore around, often pranking each other by making scary noises or jumping out at one another. So it's a fun night of scaring the pants off each other and as one person put it, "an excuse for shy Japanese kids to cling to each other." /end cultural lesson

So who wants to be my cling buddy? =3

Oh... I remember this "activity" from Card Captor. I think she caught one of her cards in a cave somewhere. After your explanation, it makes sense now. I never did it in the past because I thought it sounded dumb and why would I want to go to somewhere scary? Only Mithra's need to apply to be my cling buddy. =p

I guess this year I should try it just to see what its like.
