Lately ff14 has had a huge influx of new players, that being said there has been a significant lack of a basic tutorial and a good portion of players that barely know how to fight in early dungeons, and holminister switch after using the level skip.
The road to 70 buff is so strong it allows one to skip a lot of extra mob fighting early on and class quests which teach how to play the class.
It has started to become very noticeable with tanks forgetting their tank stance, healers failing to heal correctly and not dpsing, nevermind the sheer volume of players standing in aoe markers or doing them incorrectly.
My suggestions for when: Before a new player enters their first dungeon duty (regardless of sastacha or if they purchased a story skip to go to holminister) they must do the hall of the novice to learn how to fight in a party.
As there is also 2 level 10 guildhests, I would also suggest putting the first couple of exercises be mandatory before then.
Suggestions to improve it:
Put npc allies into the party menu- I met a couple of sprout healers that got confused because they couldn't see who to heal, onscreen. Had to teach them how to scroll the party menu
Use a duty action- this is why lakshmi is still a pain. People aren't taught how to use the duty action.
Common target indicators- we have stack markers, line attacks, look away from boss, acceleration bombs and many more that are common faire. Players need to learn how to do these.
Stun/silence a target- from a sprout's perspective, why do some bars glow and most don't? the rest of us know we silence those attacks
Tank swap (with provoke) and turning on and off tank stance- these are crucial parts of tanking
Protect against a tank buster- again core part of tanking
Curing a status ailment- Nowhere does it state ingame that blue bar icons are capable of being cleansed by healers, nor that healers need to remove these.
Raise a dead ally- again nowhere does it state how to do this, had a sprout on titan normal that couldn't work out how to raise the smn that ate 3 weight of the land.
