As a healer, I use a few macros to simplify targeting. I place a Focus Target on my tank which gives me two things:
1. I can spot the tank easily.
2. I can use a macro to cast Cure on the Focus Target <f>.
I have another macro that casts Stone on the Target's Target. But this requires me to keep putting my Hard Target on the tank. If I was able to change my Stone macro to use the Focus Target's Target <ftt>, then I would always be able to heal the tank and deal damage to the tank's target, essentially without targeting. That leaves my soft and hard target controls free to do other things.
Yes, I realize using a macro doesn't queue behind the GCD. I'm ok with that.
