Strategy: Speed Limbus

no sass, you can't. but it doesn't matter, because you can invite someone from the western side to your party. That's all that matters, if they are in your party, they can lot.

This sounds awesome. If you are planning speed clears of this I'm glad to be kinda removed from tracking for a little while, lol.

I think the method I was doing was too repetitive, like a car factory. I'm hoping this breathes a little more life into this. The gear dropped from Proto-Omega is just so good. If we do repeated speed clears, I don't see why we can't get everyone that can wear the set an opportunity to be outfitted in it.

I would love to partake in this and will definitely do so. Depends on the time that it is since I get home at 10:30pm cst (11:30pm est). Usually many people consider that too late so I haven't pushed for this. But just throwing it out there that if I was able to, I see no reason for me to miss any of these if the time is good. No matter what though, the idea of this sounds awesome.

Omega is really easy to get to, especially if people want to plow through it. If people did want to do more intensive Omega runs then I would say just do them with the philosophy of just getting the gear for anyone who wants it and restrict lotting based more on if people literally aren't coming to help at all.

Just to give a potential scenario, if someone helps with 1 Limbus run a week under a 'speed system' but isn't allowed to lot because that's not 50% then they could be in a situation where they would never be a primary lotter.

Say in a given month you gather 4 Omega sets. Person A attends 1 run a week, 4 runs total, but helps less than 50% on any given set, they can't be a primary lotter. Person B attends 2 weeks of runs, 4 runs total, >50% on 2 sets, 0% on the other 2, and is a primary lotter for 2 Omega runs. Both people attended as many runs, but one is able to lot twice. I think that ends up being a bit unfair to Person A and essentially penalizes them for not being able to attend what would in this case be one particular weekday.

My 2 cents.

I agree with Garret's scenario, if we did do a more dedicated focus on Apollyon (which lots of people have expressed interest in, since it is orders of magnitude easier both in chip farming and boss fighting), probably the whole LS of main and secondaries could be outfitted in 5/5 Homam in 2 months, and lotting privileges wouldn't matter too much except in situations where people were blatantly cherry-picking.

I'd like to keep Temenos in the cycle if possible, unless I'm the only one...

Umm this was only my first run, but with what you guys are sayin I can see it happening. The problem we had on our run came about when we got to the Corse floor. We almost beat the NM but we just didn't have enough fire power. Got charmed a lot too lol. 6 was aight, but 9 woulda been perfect.. 1 mnk, blm and a whm... the party we had was nin/thf/sam/brd/rdm/blm yaeko was main heal.... if we can have a whm focus on heals, rdm could support blm with nukage or 2x blms... melee damage was aight can't complain.. a mnk woulda been great for the bones.. I see cujo straight slayin' the crabs and slimes.. so I'd expect the mnk to destroy the bones. I think that set up woulda been great.. once again my first run so just my observations.. you guys would know better.. thoughts?

If we do Omega friday is it possible to do it later? I'm going out to dinner with the folks for my birthday but don't want to miss omega.

Well, maybe this is my fault for not mentioning it prior to the run, but when going in runs this small, all the melees really should be /NIN. I imagine a lot of MP was drained on floor 1 with people taking damage from Fluid Spread and the last floor from Whirl, and random hits on pulls and such. You're right though, a MNK would be nice for most of that run, unfortunately, unless they have Vampiric claws, they do zero damage on the first floor, aside from Chi Blast, lol.

What really killed us on Corse floor was Valgavv getting charmed w/shadows up, killed me when I was trying to sleep him... Obviously not his fault, so I dont see why you guys are saying we failed because "it was our first time." I personally think we didnt have enough "fire-power" to take out the NMs fast enough w/o draining mp. Not trying to start anything tho.^^

Personally I'd like to keep Temenos in the cycle...lets mages have a chance to get gear as well.

That's exactly why I said you guys probably didn't do as well as you could have since it was your first time, you probably didn't know what to expect from each of the floors and NMs.

ohhh ok, i think i misunderstood what you typed. sorry about that :(

What time were we possibly doing a run tonight? I'm glad to help but will likely be distracted by FF12 so I want to know what time I should come on to lend a hand.

I was thinking the earlier the better, soon as we get enough that are willing/able to go. Ideally we'd get done before Fafhogg's window tonight, but we'll see. Also, Lost needs to be on to grab the last chip. :)

If I come on around 7pm EST would that be good? Or would a little earlier be better?

Hmmm...maybe earlier if possible. Fafhogg opens a tad before 7 and I think a lot of people want to try to make that. :)

Faf's window closes by 9:30pm EST
Normal time for limbus is 10pm EST

Maybe we can stick to 10pm EST

Well, this is just for a small run at SE tonight so we can complete the chip set and do Omega at the normally scheduled time for tomorrow.
