i made an account two days ago on the website to try the free trial and downloaded the launcher from the website only problem is the launcher doesn't work. i get a Microsoft c++ run time error. so i gave up on it and bought the game with the expansions from steam. when i launched the game form steam it gave me the launcher set up and i went through it with the account that i already made
and told me to inter the key for the game so i did and the client came up so i logged in again but got the <ffxiv unable to complete version check> tried most all basics tips to fix it but nothing worked.
one fix told me to edit the FFXIV_BOOT.cfg but the i didnt have the file. so i made it hoping that it will fix it 3 hours spent trying to fix the game and i am getting tired. tried to download the launcher from the website again but got the same Microsoft c++ run time error.
