[spoilers Through 5.2] Another Theory Regarding 5.3

So, the Trial in 5.3. There's been a lot of speculation and theories, and I'm here to add a bit more.

Yoshi-P said that the boss would be hard to guess. In my mind, this rules out the three most obvious possibilities:

  1. Elidibus, the last Unsundered Ascian, and (barring Hydealyn and possibly Midgardsormr) the last unsundered anything. This would make sense as a wrap up to the Ascian plotline, but it's the first thing anyone thinks of.

  2. The Crystal Exarch. We might have to kill him to send the Scions home, and possibly to wake up G'Raha on the Source.

  3. Zenos. Mr Golf-Bag-Full-of-Katanas himself. They're clearly building towards something with the murderous shampoo advert, but I don't think that it's ready yet.

There are some other theories I've seen that seem reasonable:

  1. A horde fight with the newly minted Warriors of Light
  2. The Shoebill. Of course.
  3. My first theory was Unukalhai, perhaps empowered by Elidibus. It was pointed out to me that the Triad is optional content, and so this probably wouldn't work

An idea came to me recently, that I couldn't recall having seen anywhere else: What if Elidibus, sick of hearing the Scions talk about their commitment to remembering Amaurot, and sick of seeing the broken husk of a Convocation member slumming it with these wretches, reaches into our soul with his more complete Echo and forces us to relive the day that the Fourteenth turned against the Convocation and refused to take part in the Zodiark plan?

This could make for a fantastic group fight, perhaps similar to Thordan, while also answering a lot of the lingering questions about our unsundered self.

Thoughts?
