This thread was inspired by MicahZerrshia's comments on another thread, and I thought it deserved some time to discuss and debate.
Think back to each of the expansions. Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, Endwalker, Dawntrail...
Did the deaths and the emotions experienced from killing off allies/friends/accomplices affect your overall MSQ rating? Did your comrade taking their final breath impact you so much that you think it was an amazing expansion?
Did the intensity of your emotions and your feels help dictate what was your favorite storyline of each expansion?
Heavensward, Shadowbringers, and Endwalker all had loss that deeply affected me.
What are your thoughts? Does the emotional rollercoaster ultimately drive your final feelings of an expansion?

- Heavensward was among top tier for me, and I still feel emotions about Ysayle dying. Papalymo also died as we approached Stormblood.
- Stormblood had Yotsuyu die.
- Shadowbringers had Emet Selch die, who was our ally for a period of time. There was also that terrifying angel transformation that scarred me a little bit.
- Endwalker had Venat die. Plus hundreds of other characters.
- Dawntrail had no rollercoaster for me personally, I don't think(?) anyone died of great importance.
