Hey! So I've finished 6.0 a good while ago, beginning of 2024. In true MSQ-Vampire fashion I have since then watched other people go through the MSQ and stream their journey, whether that be actual streamers or friends, privately via discord.
For context I originally played the game in german, and having seen many of the english counterparts I realize that german translations werent always really great and sometimes didnt convey the underlining nuances the way the english version did.
There has always been one particular bit in Endwalkers story that I never could place right, which is the dream cutscene immediately following after the Hydaelyn defeat cutscene.
Recently when I watched someone play through the bit with Hydaelyn, it was in english and i closely listened to the words she had to offer after her defeat, and it made me realize something. And I wonder if anyone else did, or if it came to anyone elses mind. That being, that she gave us the power to call upon Emet-Selch and Hythlodaeus in Ultima Thule.
Basically how it goes is that she starts asking you about Azems crystal, that youre the bearer of it and if you could show it to her. Alongside giving you the crystal that can track meteion she also talks about infusing a gift upon your crystal and says something along the lines of "for when the way forward seems lost, look deep within yourself". Then you have that dream cutscene, which on my own playthrough I wasnt able to make out who is talking to me or what sense this even makes. But now after listening to it again, I coul make out that its Hythlodaeus talking to what seems to be Emet-Selch. It sounds watery but I imagine it is the sounds you hear when your soul is floating within the Aetherial Sea. They, or better Hythlodaeus, since we cant hear Emet-Selch, are talking about rather wanting to be asleep, but "to see the beginning we first must see the end".
That's when I realized that it was Hydaelyns doing that we were able to call upon them. Emet-Selch even further proves this to me by saying that he "will not suffer himself to live again by Hydaelyns magicks". To me it sounds like, not only did she want to help us, but she also wanted to help them to be able to see the conclusion to their own story after all these years.
Im just wondering if anyone else noticed this, or perhaps interpreted it completely different from me?
