Reasons: The characters I want at lvl 100 are there. The professions I want are also there. See below for reasons why I am bored
1. Leve quest are extremely efficient for leveling professions but have time gated caps. Why?
2. I have been asking for years at this point for FF14 to copy and paste WoW transmog system into this game. Just adding slots or whatever is not cutting.
3. Farming old raid content is extremely difficult. If I go in unsynced I should be hitting in the millions so mount farming or gear farming for what I want is not difficult or require some 50 minute queue.
4. Picto and Viper were just not my thing so did not bother
Notice I did not list MSQ related complaints as Square Enix has bought a lot of good will with their prior content to remedy the complaints
So what has changed.... well not much
- Talents points are the illusion of choice. Always have been and in high end content you are forced to spec certain ways
- Dependence on add ons is pretty heavy
- A lot of the grind stuff is gone. 480 ilvl gear is being given away but that is because the next expansion is coming out in 20 days
- Story has gotten better. It is definitely heading in a darker direction than anything that Square did during this expansion. Almost feels like they are ripping off the Eternals storyline from that Marvel movie
- No vendors for PVE gear yet and never will be
- Moving around that MMO is shockingly hard. They have the equivalent of double the locations FF14 does and you need to memorize go here...to get here...then go here
- Dragon riding is pretty much required as it is shockingly quicker than regular flight. I was doing a zone even on regular flying and people were flying by me at 3 times the speed.
- People still do not talk to each other. You see people all around but noone interacts
Just some thoughts. Both games are still HEAVILY populated or atleast that WoW server still was but nothing has changed in terms of more easily moving between servers.
I will be checking out the War Within specifically for the story and not the end game raiding or Mythic gearing nightmare. FF14 has spoiled me on not being stressed by basic things.
You might go back to find a dead server and get charged to move lol
