Ever since SHB Summoner's aetherflow has been a bit lacking and felt tacked on, though in shb it was made up by the other parts of the kit, it being on a 30 second recast time with energy drain, and it having 3 stacks. But with Endwalkers rework it feels like its been completely left in the dust and unfulfilling, along with Ruin IV. So ive come to ask if the devs can change it and offer some suggestions on how they could possibly make it more engaging!
-1). Raising the cap back to 3 and changing how we gain stacks of aetherflow to gaining it from the Rites/Catastrophes and Astral/Umbral impulse & FoF. Could have RNG depending on the rite you're on like ifrit has a 100% chance to give one flow while garuda has a 25% chance.
2). Give our current aetherflow abilities and attacks a longer CD and make energy drain/syphon purely for damage, taking a page from how we used fester and painflare during burst in stormblood we'd have to ideally rotate through all 4 to prevent overcapping while dealing damage. I'd even say have Necrotize and painflare do more damage but in exchange they use 2 stacks of flow compared to energy drain and syphon using 1 stack.
3). Put ruin 4 on a 45 second CD and make it a conditional dot along with flat damage. The condition to have the dot apply would be to have 1 stack of aetherflow available for use.
I personally think these changes would help aetherflow feel more impactful and useful since we'd be interacting with it much more often than we do currently. Would be happy to hear what other people think!
