Sad News.

I heard about this a few days ago. There seemed to be a lot of animosity regarding that book series. Thankfully, I've never been tempted to read any form of sci-fi books.

Colin McRae died in a helicopter crash on Saturday as well for anyone who's a racing fan.

It was a rough week.

One of my friends at work is/was hooked on these books.

He said the shittiest thing about this is that the author was in the middle of the last book for the series. Supposedly there's enough rough notes to finish it, but still sucks. :weeping01

The series got off to a great start, but the middle was mostly filler for contractual purposes. I only continued reading because I wanted to know how it ended.

I found George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series far more engaging.

oh no :( they were saying his lambda light chain levels were getting better too...... dammit! I so wanted to be able to read the end of the series...

yeah, last i had read his blog it was at least hopeful for him... so sad...

on the books, he dictated enough of final book that it can be finished posthumously (is that even a word or am i making that up?), but that decision is up to Harriet (his wife) and TOR books. It was scheduled to be printed sometime in '09.

First 5 books helped keep me sane in the Marines. I couldn't belive I read all those book and the series wasn't over, I had to wait. I was somewhat non-plussed.

Last couple of books have been meaningless filler and he drug out long links and tried to wrestle his story back into order after all the threads spread too far out, but was still hoping he could pull it together. Looks somewhat less llikely now that he's dead.

Hell good thing folks got pissed he started prequels and made him go back tot he main story or wouldnt' even have anything on a final draft, lol.
