So I know I can speak for alot here, at least most of the other Black Mage mains I have spoken to all agree that they are no longer going to be playing Black Mage.
With each expansion they have either squished abilities, removed high magics, or made the rotation much more difficult.
I do NOT for one moment believe anyone on their development team or Production team actually plays as a black mage. The recent changes in DT have made BLM unplayable with the broken opener that is near impossible to get. Let's not forget to mention the horrible changes to transpose and forced-use of a low level bliz spell just to restore mana.
I know this will bring hate and I really don't care because I have been playing BLM since ARR was current and I can tell you, im done with black mage. You cannot play it with the massive over-use of mechanic overlap, and we might get one or two hits in on a boss before it's dead.
When a fight its more about moving around to avoid things, its no longer a fight but an obstacle course. I DO NOT want obstacle courses, or to constantly have to move to avoid something. If this is your template design for BLM you are going to ruin the legacy of BLM. Where are our high magics, Ultima? Meteor (since we never get to use it make it an actual spell like oh idk EVERY other FF), Time magics, Bio, Blink, Gravija? These are ALL native to black mage, no one uses flare so that little mp credit given for using after another spell means nothing to me, I still wont use it.
This dev team has no idea what BLM really is, did Yoshi even play any of the squaresoft Final Fantasies as BLM? Doubt it, and it's showing.
Blm should be able to start a cast, move around, have the cast pause while moving, and then continue off where it was when we stop moving, stop making us not be able to cast.
