Regarding Issues with the Windows® Launcher (Apr. 22)

We have received inquiries about the following errors occuring on the Windows® version of the launcher.

・When starting the launcher, the message “Failed to initialize browser” is displayed and the launcher cannot be started.
・After starting the launcher, the message “An error has occurred. Please try again later.” appears in the Square Enix ID and password entry fields, preventing access to the game.

This symptom appears to occur when "Microsoft Edge" or "Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime" is corrupted. If this symptom occurs, please try repairing "Microsoft Edge" or "Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime".

■How to Repair
・Windows®11
Open “Settings” → “Apps” → “Installed apps,” then select “...” icon for the relevant app and choose “Repair” (or select “Modify” and then “Repair”).

・Windows®10
Open “Settings” → “Apps” → “Apps & features,” then select “Repair” (or select “Change” and then “Repair”) from the “Advanced options” menu for the relevant app.
