Proposed lotting rule change

yaya, made this thread really late.

I really don't mind things the way they are now, as long as they stick to what Archain and Gunman mentioned. If this isn't an open shell, we shouldn't be acting like one. The sign-up thread states the three jobs that we are currently seeking (RDM, BLM, and BRD), so why are we seeing new members with none of these jobs? We certainly aren't hurting for attendance.

Also, I'd like to see a hard starting time implemented. Maybe 15 minutes after the gather together time. Everyone knows when we're starting, and where to be, and it isn't difficult at all to sort out parties for the runs, so there's really no reason at all to be starting an hour after the gathering time, especially if it's just waiting for one or two people. In fact, it's somewhat rude. If you're not there on time, and you miss the run, you shouldn't get credit for it, imo.

We also started the shell with the mindset of allowing Ultima members in, as they wish. This means that an Ultima member who wishes to start attending Negatron and be a part of the shell, can join. Now, this doesn't pose much of a problem since 99% of Ultima members have at least 1 mage job leveled.

I know this is probably not what was meant, but just stating that if we see more people from Ultima coming in, this is why. I would not expect a tremendous amount coming though, since Ultima LS is based mostly off of EST.

we have not accepted anyone recently without the fore mentioned jobs, freyaru is the newest member(75 rdm). as for start time yes we need to get going faster, last night was over board.

Sorry, Arch, I didn't mean to imply that you left the shell because of the lotting rules. I was simply referring to your previous post on the matter.

As for the new members, I think that it only seems like we've been getting lots of non-mage jobs simply because even the mage jobs are lotting Homam. :P I suppose that this is pretty typical for Limbus shells, though. ^^

And yes I agree wholeheartedly about being stricter with start times. Keep in mind that there ARE a lot of EST folks in Negatron, and by screwing around for an hour past our start time, you're inconsiderately stealing an hour's sleep from them. If you're going to be late, farm a card and log out in Tem/Apolly ahead of time.

*EDIT* .... That, or just set the "start" times an hour earlier. :P

Nah, no worries. =)

Just wanted to help, don't know if it comes off that way or if it sounds like I'm bitching, lol.

I've thought about doing this a couple times but I never know what zone we're doing on any given day until when we gather. Last night was an exception though, I'm typically not late to begin with.

First of all sorry been out since first night. Ill be back next tuesday maybe friday but prob not. Had some rl issues had to move on the fly and my ps2 is at old place still. Anywho.
All systems have faults and defaults. I know when I was runnin a shell the was point based it created many problems, ppl would get their points to lot what they wanted then stop going to events, till they need more points. I have seen that proity lots work the best in my eyes, but always depends on the ppl and the type of shell that it is. Mind you now though most of gear from ultima and omega are for most part, certain peices are better for other jobs. The key that I always belive is best for any type of lottin is requiring ppl to attend 50% of runs when the run are pop items for bigger and better things, like Sky, Sea, and Limbus. From what you do after that though will most likely if atleast well thought out will work fine. No matter you choose though you will never make ever happy or atleast make everyone 100% agree. I trust the members of this group will make a good decision and I fully support any way that it goes.

I don't see any problem with requiring 50% attendance to lot, in addition to a points system. You don't help farm, you don't lot that cycle.
