Feels like you're a Make-A-Wish kid who wanted to be a knight for a day and everyone else is just playing along.
It actually makes lots of sense. All the other characters are talking over you and they only ask you simple questions that you answer with meaningless gestures. It's all an act! And you get to show up, take a few swings at the bad guy, and they fall down to play dead. Then everyone cheers on how awesome you are.
