So....

The Queen of England is coming to town tomorrow. Part of the area that I cover for my employer is in the state Capitol area where she'll be...

Things are a mess traffic wise as the security and planning are pretty tight in the area. The data center where all of our equipment is located inside a building that will be 'closed' for the day while she's on the capitol grounds.

Not sure if I'll venture down there to get a view of the Queen, seems pretty significant that she will be here, in this little city. There are tons of news trucks, mobile TV studios and other media trucks around the campus.

54 people got VIP Passes via a email lottery, I'm not one of them, lol. (54 people x 1 guest each = 108 = Number of Jamestown Settlers who arrived in 1607.)

Anyway, the Governor of Virginia gave us time off since he closed a number of state buildings in the vicinity of the governor's mansion and Capitol. I still have to work since our other campus is still open, 1 mile away. :badshape:

Should have brought my camera to work, maybe I'll bring it tomorrow.

The Royal Pain: Is the assholes who don't read the notices that have been going around for a bit and then try and go places they can't.

The visit itself isn't the pain... They did a good job of rerouting traffic around everything, it's just the idiots who can't read and are mad that they can't have their way.

She hasn't been here since 1957, so can't complain about a visit every 50 years or so.... lol.
