Yes, you must be able to wear the gear before the fight in order to lot it. If you are 74 in the "main" you choose, then you may not lot on anything Ultima/Omega drops since the gear is 75. You can choose PLD as your main if you want, but you wont be able to lot until it is 75.

I'm going to switch my RDM to main lotting then, since it's the only 75 as of now. I'll talk to someone about the possibility of switching later (significantly later), but I understand if that's an issue.

Hmmm, why not just wait as there may be waiting period if you wish to change to avoid item whoring.

Gun will have it up in a couple of days, we are really just setting shit up right now.

For any job other than BLU, wouldn't that be a given already, with their job choice?
