Many people claim to want "Show not Tell" storytelling, but completely collapse when presented with it.

Having read through many threads on the sub the last few days, I've noticed that many people will try to say that things like understanding Zoraal Ja and why Wuk Lamat and Koana were able to help the Mamool Ja in Yak'tel when Galool Ja Ja couldn't fully are "reading too much" and "the writers aren't good enough to actually intend those things"

And this just feels to me like people are taking their dislike for the story (for whatever reasons, I'm not here to discuss whether or not you like the story, I don't care) and trying to justify it by saying that every aspect is "badly written", often by saying the game should have TOLD more than it did.

And like, saying you want "show not tell", but then saying "well why didn't they just TELL us" demonstrates that a lot of people either do not actually know what "show not tell" means, or would rather try to justify their dislike of the story, instead of just accepting that something can be written well and you not personally like it.

There are certainly criticisms I have about Dawntrail's story overall and in specific, but the general tenor of the discourse has been awful, and people jumping in to call everything "badly written" makes actually discussing any of this stuff nearly impossible.

tl;dr: Dawntrail has Show not Tell storytelling, and many posters here (and other places) completely fail to recognize it when they see it.
