Hey guys, so I'm new to FFXIV coming from WoW. I'm from Sri Lanka and have a few questions I'd like to clarify about Data Centers, Worlds, and latency. I've currently made a Thaumaturge in Kujata JP and when I try to strafe between spells my second cast always gets "interrupted" due to latency. Then I have to cast the spell again, by which time the mob just walks up to me and beats my face in. I have to check if turning off errors would work, but I doubt it.
1) If you're a player from India or Lanka, what server have you found to have the best ping? Be it JP or EU since they're about the same distance away from us.
2) Does your ping vary when you change Worlds (Kujata/ Tonberry) or does it only vary when changing Data Centers (Elemental/ Gaia)?
3) Is there any way to check ping other than running "resmon"? The reason why I'm asking this is, my "Total (B/sec)" when playing FFXIV varies from 120 to 2,000. But in-game it doesn't show a notable difference when moving/ casting.
