So I started sometime last month and once I hit the end of ARR and got into the patch content before HW and saw how small the EXP gain was, I groaned. I was gunning to unlock the Gunbreaker job and it was feeling like a slog getting through all this little minor detail world building stuff. I was legitimately starting to lose interest until Nabriales shows up.
And then it all just HITS. None of it was groundbreaking, from the corruption of the Crystal Braves to the regicide, to the framing.. But it just caught me so off fucking guard because of how much of a slog the rest of the patch material was. Suddenly everything hits the fucking fan. It legit felt like everything I had been doing for the last 100 hours just came apart at the seams when the Scions all get written off.
I really didn't expect them to kill Nanamo. I also did not expect Teledji Adeledji to eat shit so soon. I figured there'd be some trudging along and a bunch of fetch quests before I got to even sniff his comeuppance - Nope. Raubahn just fucking bisects him right then and there and then loses his arm.
I guess I just didn't expect this sort of escalation in my first MMO. It's awesome to be excited about it again and I just had to share my thoughts since literally no one else I know plays FFXIV. I also hear Heavensward only gets better. Really looking forward to it.
