The final segment of the main scenario is easily the best Final Fantasy experience I've had, and on par with FF7 and Crisis Core which are my favorite games in the franchise. And I've yet to start playing through the post MSQ.
Emet-Selch is the best villain in Final Fantasy period. I'm legitimately blown away by what I just played. When I got to the city and saw skyscapers, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The story moments in general were just incredible; the Exarchs "betrayal", vaunthrys acension in the trial, the warrior of darkness and the warrior of light becoming one, Emets send off, the exarch summoning 7 other WoL's for the trial, the player avatar "speaking", etc. They can only go down from here it feels.
Stayed up for 12 hours straight just grinding out the finale, I haven't done something like that since middle school. Yoshida is a fucking hero for the way FFXIV turned out, and can't wait untill FFXVI.
