Reddit lurker here, just making this post to say that when people say this game's story slaps, they are ABSOLUTELY right.
I firt started playing during COVID, but I ended up dropping after rushing through ARR. Back then the story didn't really grab me, the mechanics and systems felt clunky and confusing, and I was not really into the anime aesthetics.
So, I decided to give the game another shot and... something just clicked, you know? The Heavensward storyline has been an absolute *chef's kiss* so far (and I even haven't finished it yet), the game's systems are starting to make sense to me, the community is great... I think I'm in my honeymoon phase with FFXIV.
Anyway, I just wanted to share some appreciation. This game is great, and I kind of wish I'd given it a real chance back then
