what they do and thier statement on thier site is not against a tos. It;s a buisness. Beat the horse to death some more. If you really want to do something about it, but IGE and shut it down.

on another note, if there weren't gil farmers, there would STILL be people camping the same NMs 24/7/365 because they would want to make gil to buy items themselves. So does it really matter anymore if it's a chinese kid getting paid 3 cents a year to farm gil for some crappy website, or a 13yr old ass fuck kid doing the same thing? Answer is no of course. Just mpk them from time to time, post the tod on shit they camp on forums, and d2 them whenever you see them
:bfg:

Trading in-game currency is against ToS, long and the short of it. I just wanted to know their reasoning.

Like any other business, Profit. Think about it... whoever heads that company is probably sitting pretty considering the number of games they have their hand in.

And whether or not we like it or don't, there will be always be a customer base until either they are shutdown or there are no games they sell/trade currency.

The IGE secuirty certificate indicates they are based in Kowloon Bay - Hong Kong, China. The www.ige.com address was created on May 15,1995 - so they have been at this for a long time if they have been truly active for those number of years. All of their websites appear to hosted from Rackspace.com here in the United States.

In Carmela's words, we can beat the horse to death and Harass IGE all we want...but look around, there are other sites like IGE that do the exact same thing for the same games IGE does.

Yeah just think about all the gear the owner of IGE has on his characters. That would be kinda funny if the owner became addicted and used all his resources for his own good instead of RMT. Sorry, was just a funny thought I had while reading this.

they're not selling currency, thier selling a service. You pay me $xx.xx and i'll go farm x amt of gil for you. They just skip the farming for x amt of hourse, and write it off as "future customer base planning and preperation."

if what they did was against the ToS in anygame, they wouln't be in buisness.

It's a business thing. Refuse to answer anything that can worsen your reputation as bad word of mouth spreads faster than good.

IGE CEO Q&A Session

Q: Who is the CEO of IGE?
The CEO of IGE is Brock Pierce. From IGEs website: "Brock started acting at the age of 4 and appeared in numerous films including Disney's The Mighty Ducks and Mighty Ducks 2, culminating in a starring role in the Disney film First Kid in 1995".

Q: Wow, he used to be a movie star. I wonder happened after that.
The founders of flopcom Digital Entertainment Network (DEN) are still languishing in a Spanish jail, and investigators in the US are stepping up efforts to bring them home to face sex offence charges.

DEN co-founders Marc Collins-Rector, Chad Shackley and Brock Pierce were arrested in June on an international warrant after being indicted in New Jersey on five counts of transporting a minor across state lines for the purpose of engaging in sexual acts.

The company raised $75m through an Initial Public Offer, but collapsed as allegations of its founders' conduct hit the media. DEN's assets were sold at auction for $105,000 this summer.

The men fled to Spain where they were arrested by Spanish police who found "enormous amounts of child porn" at their villa.

All three are likely to face Spanish charges, but US police have stated that Spain will let the US charge them first, according to the New York Post.

Collins-Rector, Shackley and Pierce already face a $4.5m default judgement over offences with teenaged boys in the Beverly Hills and west Los Angeles area dating back to the early 1990s, after losing a civil court case brought by victims.

Q: How can I be sure the Brock Pierce mentioned there is the one that was in the movie?

Many workers at the company said they had suspicions about then-Chairman Collins-Rector and discussed them internally before the New Jersey lawsuit. "There was something not right," a former executive said Friday. "There were too many little boys. People were willing to look the other way."

Matt Welch, a Los Angeles writer who briefly consulted for the company, said its collapse "would have been one of the textbook classic dot-com flameouts even without this. It was a bad idea, at a bad time, done by bad people.... I wouldn't say there was an atmosphere of criminal behavior, you just felt the decadence."

Collins-Rector, who is in his early 40s, shared a palatial Encino estate with longtime partner Chad Shackley, 24, and with Brock Pierce, a child Disney movie star who moved in when he was 17 and was paid a $250,000 salary by the company. Shackley and Pierce were executive vice presidents of the company.

The three were described as co-founders of the company, which filmed short episodes on a number of teenage themes for playback over the Internet and at one time boasted more than 300 employees.

Q: WTF? How could he be wanted on sexual molestation charges and be rotting in a Spanish jail if he has a high profile multi-million dollar company in New York?

This is where details get sketchy. A number of other sources seem to state that both Rector-Collins and Shackley are in fact rotting in a Spanish Jail, while perhaps Pierce was never indicted in the first place and no charges were filed against him specifically. Regardless, however, this is a very strange fellow with some interesting (to say the least) ties.

EDIT: For the curious, all of this was found on Google. I am not an official news source so one should neither accept nor deny this without doing their own inquiry.

SqEnix might consider the tactic that Sony employed with EQ to curb RMT. Make most everything worth a darn exclusive.

Same with WoW; almost all items except the 'grays' are Bind on Equip or Bind on Pickup. (There are five levels of rarity- grey, green, blue, purple, and another which they havent implemented yet) This makes it impossible to exploit NM's as much as in FFXI, and also solves a lot of other problems. Downside: when you spend the money on that Emperor's Hairpin type equipment, you wont enjoy not being able to sell it back and having to vendor it. (This, however, keeps prices low)

You know what i love ? When you talk to one of their representatives and they try to act like they are completely perfect when infact he mispelled the word "Practices" about 2-3 times in that whole conversation :p.

You should re-message and hope you get the same guy and just correct him i think that it would slap him in the face verbaly.

Note: ( Its "Practices" not "Practises" )

Its just a little pet-peeve of mine when people "try" to type perfect but infact screw themselves in the process ;).

hahah i'm thinkin that "live help" thing is crap. I asked what Jotaru asked and ya, i got the same exact response. It was a different person and he also mis-spelled Practices lol.... i just find that funny =P then i told him that its "practices" not "practises", he didnt respond to that but suddenly he was spelling it right lol

I should add that the short conversaton we had took about 45 minutes in total. Every time I messaged he seemed to go 'afk' - it was quite annoying.

Yea i find its super funny how he did that, and the message that it posts "Having network congestions" thats just a load of crap lol, i mean lets think about this how much can a chat window honestly congest the ENTIRE network of IGE lol.....:confused:
