Isn't it weird (at least, thematically) that Dancer is one of the worst dance partner for a Dancer ?
By "one of the worst" I mean, partnering a Dancer as a Dancer means you partner a low DPS job and thus don't increase by a lot the team damage for the battle. I am aware of how standard step stack in between 2 dancers, but I don't think having 2 boosted DNC with +10% damage is better than 2 DNC with +5% and 2 other higher DPS jobs with +5% as well.
Of course, that's assuming players don't sit on AOEs and perform their job properly. Ofc if we start talking about high damage jobs that perform poorly because of bad rotations or positioning, that's another story.
So yeah, I wish we could get something out of partnering a DNC. I usually only ever do that if the team is something like 2 Dancers + 2 Bards, since that's 4 low-DPS jobs. But even then, I believe Bards still have higher average dps than Dancers from what I've heard ? So if that is the case, even in this edge case partnering a DNC as a DNC isn't too great. But at least it's thematically fitting. Bards make music, and Dancers dance, so that kinda work.
But it's weird to me that a Dancer is among the least optimal partners a Dancer can get. If I have to Dance with someone, wouldn't the best "someone" be someone good at dancing ? So another Dancer ? Dunno, it feels weird, thematically.
Like, I wish partnering with a Dancer would boost the rate at wish the esprit gauge fills ? Or maybe 2 DNC improvising next to each other double the esprit gauge gain ? Maybe not making Dancer the *best* partner for a Dancer, but at least a very good partner ? I don't know, it's just random shower thoughts.
