Is it me or has anyone else noticed an influx of new players that are spoiling the game? I get it, not every interaction will be pleasant but I grew to love this game because of the kind and helpful community.
Before this I was playing Destiny and that was a toxic community I felt battered and bruised from the constant fighting and insults if you didn't perform perfectly.
FFXIV players were the opposite. When I first started some random higher level people gifted me 100k gil and showed me the ropes. Now when I try to pay it forward or offer suggestions for first time tanks or letting people know about mechanics in a duty, the response is sarcasm, and hate.
I tried to explain the final boss mechanic of Keeper of The Lake, which are something you need to know if you don't want to wipe and a party member responded "I was a world 100 mythic raider in WoW" "Mechanics are all the same."
Maybe I'm buggin but the game community is starting to feel different and I don't like it.
