How Long Does It Take To Finish Arr (2.0) No One Asked, Ever.

I've been running a small 'experiment' over on Twitch to see how long it takes to get through A Realm Reborn with minimal grinding and after finishing the original base game (2.0) I have a few thoughts to share.

If you start on a preferred server with the 'Road to 70' buff there will be zero grind with the small exception of an item level gated MSQ entry early on that requires you to have your left side gear at a certain level, a mixture of side quests in the vicinity and vendors will sort this roadblock out quick sharpish.

Because the vast majority of XP comes from quests XP boosting items like the Brand New Ring or pre-order Earrings have a minimal effect on your levelling experience, but they do provide a boost whilst going through the required dungeons.

My character, Bimbles McSloshyguts, finished 2.0 at lvl56, he had had his artefact gear for almost all of the latter half of his time and his accessories are... rubbish, to say the least.

Bimbles' journey so far, from lowly Marauder to newly minted Warrior of Light, has taken 39 hours almost exactly and I'll be starting streaming 2.1 soon after submitting this post, link up above, if anyone wants to come join me

/////Thus ends the info dump, below is the 'why' of it all.\\\\\

This last year has been rough on us all and we've all coped or slipped into our own little bubbles. I don't know when I realised this but it became especially noticeable when a friend phoned me for the first time in a long time; I found talking to be absolutely exhausting and at first I didn't understand why.

Looking back I realised that I had been going whole weeks without uttering more than a couple of sentences... some weeks I'd go without saying anything out loud. I'm not sure how long it had been like this - space and time ceased to having meaning around the 4th or 5th March in a row - but upon reflection it wasn't good for my health.

So I started jumping into my Discord channels with friends, get the old vocal chords working again and I also decided to start trying to stream again. Knowing that gaining an audience would be hard and slow (and also not really caring about that because what I wanted was an excuse to read aloud to strengthen my voice) I decided to stream a game that didn't have much of a viewing but was something I love deeply.

Thusly was Bimbles and the quest to see how long it takes to get caught up with FFXIV for a fresh off the choco-carriage sprout, albeit a sprout who put in a little thought to his approach.

I've waffled on long enough and I want to thank those that read all the way through and an extra thanks to anyone who joins me for the rest of this journey back to a Stronger Voice.
